About Torn Index
Torn Index is an unofficial fan site that collects the best player-written guides from Torn's Tutorials & Guides forum and keeps track of which ones are still accurate. It isn't affiliated with Torn. Every guide belongs to its author; we show a short summary and link to the original thread.
How guides are chosen
Each guide gets an Index Score from 0 to 100. It compares the guide's rating with guides of the same age, so a strong new guide isn't buried under threads that have had years to collect votes. It also weighs total rating, how quickly it's gaining votes, rating per view, and how recently someone replied. Core guides score 80 or more; Listed guides 55 or more. Guides under 30 days old appear in the Fresh lane before they've had time to collect votes.
How freshness is judged
Current means nothing suggests the guide is out of date. Check means something does: the author says parts may be out of date, its spy data is getting old, or nobody has replied or updated it in two years. Outdated means the author says it's outdated or no longer maintained, or its spy data is two or more years old. Every badge shows its reason.
Torn API use
A scheduled job reads the forum once a day through the official Torn API, using one Public-access API key belonging to the site's owner. That key is stored as a private secret on the server and is never shown to visitors or shared. The site never asks for your API key and stores no information about you.
Last sync today: 2,344 forum threads read, 1,398 guides tracked.
For guide authors
If you'd like your guide removed or its summary corrected, or you've spotted a problem with the site, message Zhysahofa [4568431] on Torn and it will be handled.
